The past year has been a whirlwind and crazy!! I’m sure it’s the same for many of you as well! I wanted to catch up a bit with some of my life changes recently.
A little over last year ago, we relocated to San Francisco, California from Vancouver, British Columbia due to Jeffry’s job opportunity. We enjoyed living in San Francisco and got to see a lot of what that amazing city has to offer; some great restaurants, fun local shopping, exploring around the city and the Bay Area, and had the chance to meet some great people.
Then, as we know too well, Corvid-19 hit and San Francisco was the first city in the country to lock down. It changed a lot of things around us. I’m grateful that I work from home so it didn’t have much of an impact on my work situation compared to so many people. We were impacted by the pandemic with some our close friends and clients contracting Covid and needing hospitalization; thankfully recovering. Then Jeffry tested positive, with me testing negative twice, so we had to endure at home quarantine separation for two weeks in our small SF apartment. Thankfully, Jeffry didn’t become ill and recovered. I may have also had it prior to him, but if I did I didn’t experience any symptoms. We can’t imagine we wouldn’t have given it to each other.
With everything going on we started talked about our life priorities. We both realized that life is short and it is very important for us to be happy and able to enjoy life more. We left Seattle a little over seven years ago for to follow Jeffry’s career. I expressed that I wanted us to return to Seattle and settle down there for good. We were much happier when we lived in Seattle and miss our friends and love everything about the city. Jeffry works in the hotel industry and his position was eliminated. He was now free, so we made the decision to move back to Seattle.
We just moved into our new home last Thursday and I’ve already noticed an improvement on our mood and outlook! I’m looking forward to the day when this whole Corvid-19 pandemic thing is manageable so we can finally reunite our friends and relatives. I know you probably feel the same way as well for the loved ones in your life!
I’m so lucky that my design work is all online so I can continue to work with my e-design clients anywhere as long as I have internet access. Despite all the issues at play in our country right now, I know we will weather through this current crisis and this most recent change of location will pay off for us in a big way.
Has the Covid-19 pandemic affected you in such a way to re-examine your life and your priorities?
