Ask Joshua - Are apron sinks still in style?

Hi Joshua,

My husband and I are planning a remodel to our kitchen this spring. We’ve decided we wanted to go with an industrial style kitchen. We also love apron sinks though and I kind of also really want that in our new kitchen. My concern is that I’ve seen some other people remodel their kitchen and rip out their apron sinks. So, is this going out of style. I don’t want to move forward with something that’s going to be dated as soon as we finish it.

Thank you for asking such a great question about your concern if apron sinks are in style or not. I can confirm that an apron sink is still in style but it’s definitely less popular than it was a few years ago. Some people don’t feel comfortable using it or don’t like how they look for various reasons so they changed it to different kind of sink that’s more practical for them; everyone has their own preferences. At the end of the day, it’s your home, you do you. I think an apron sink would look fabulous for your industrial style kitchen, so I say go for it! :) I wish you the best of luck with your kitchen remodel project.
