Decorate Your Home For Fall!

Can you believe it’s September 1st already!?!? I’m thrilled that fall season is finally here now. For those of you who’ve been following me for a while know, you know that I am not a summer heat person. I love gloomy and wet weather and I can’t wait for it to return to Seattle. Interspersed with my daydreams of overcast days, I’ve started thinking about fall decoration inspirations and started looking around at shops while I’ve been out and about and wanted to share some of my thoughts with you.

As far as decorating for fall, it’s better to go simple. You don’t need to do an full home makeover like a lot of people love doing for Christmas. I find it more tasteful to add some touches of fall and autumnal colors with decorative pillows, blanket and throws, real, faux, or dried flora for a vase. Of course, you know I’m going to say, you’ve got to add some pumpkins around the space to get in the autumn mood. You can’t go wrong with pumpkins, regardless of type or color because they really go with anything!

So, this seasons fall decorative objects I selected stay true to my style with organic, texture, and natural elements falling in line with my most popular design styles of the past year; Scandinavian, California Casual, and Japandi. While these are mostly neutrals, it’s totally okay to add a pop of color to make it more interesting (that’s where pumpkins can come in!). For example, you can see that I selected some rust red and copper color tones that work with the design styles I usually work with. Just to note, it’s totally okay to mix real pumpkins and artificial pumpkins together just to add more color and textures to your space.
